Any F and G style bag would work.

It techically takes a Royal type A bag, but I use F&G bags in mine and they work just fine.

Brad,

I know this Royal is a model 608 Heavy Duty Commercial built in late 1986 or early 1987.

Could you please read what it says on the nameplate on the back side of the nozzle by the front wheels?

Example: Model 608, Serial No. J86G069521, Amps 5.4

Thank you,

Ben (KirbyClassicIII)

If you wish you can go to any Royal dealer and buy a "B" type outer bag if you do not want to fuss with the "A" bags or F&G bags.Just keep the old one for the collection-and use the "B" bag as the driver-performance is often better, too.Yes,the F&G bags work-but on one brand-Riccar replacements for F&G-the paper fill tube sometimes rips. When I use the "B" bag-I use the grey "Commercial" replacement one that can use the "B" bags-less expensive.Guess now it would be orange. And you could put the Royal dump bag on the machine if you wanted.

Brad,

I wonder if you could please take a picture of the nameplate... because this being in Canada, it may have a different format there than here in the USA.

Thank you,

Ben

Brad,

Going by the date code you found, it appears to have been made on February 20, 1987 (7 is 1987; 051 is 51st day of calendar year, or February 20, 1987).

You have a 1987 model 608-CA (CA is Canadian specifications).

Thank you,

Ben
