... When it's a Hoover, apparently!!!

This one recently 'retired' from a local hotel. His colleagues similarly suffered the indignity of being referred to as 'Hoover 2' and 'Hoover 3'.

Obviously, the proprietor didn't know what the word 'Quality' meant... ;-)

Now that I have photographed him, he can be cleaned up, and the offending label removed...

Comments, please....

All best

Not Impressed

I would imagine not, MadaboutHoovers. I hope he doesn't 'shoot the messenger'. I only took the photograph... ;)

IIRC, he 'SEBOed' his drive the other day, so why not?? But, on the other hand, why not just 'I'm just gonna vacuum the corridor'???

All best (and wearing tin hat and flak jacket)

Is this yours now Dave? Or is it sitting in "retirement" elsewhere?

Och I'm too laid back to notice. We Scots can be stubborn you know.

After all, I'm sure those who have long barrel names of vacuums like "Montgomery-Ward," aren't going to announce "Right, this afternoon, I'm going to Montgomery Ward the living room."

Lol, I was gonna say, if that's the state the hotels carpets are in, they should consider a "no dogs" policy.

I would love to be let loose on that carpet, especially with a bagless vac, just to watch the sheer amount of dog hair spin round the cylinder.

I had a friend a while back (who's now longer with us) who did live in a house that filthy - he had 2 Border Collies and never vacced the house, the pattern on the carpet came back when I vacced for him - I took my DC07 over and filled 9 bins just off the living room carpet in a small terraced house in Birmingham. It clogged the pre-motor filter up too. He was staggered to see the pattern come back, and by just how dirty his house was

He went out and bought a new DC07 - and then never used it! Once a dirty bleeder - always a dirty bleeder!

He was old though and suffered from bronchitis and emphysema from his 50 years of smoking.

As a rule, if you have pets like dogs or cats, you NEED to vac at least once every couple of days. (NOT SEBO the carpet, or HOOVER the carpet lol)

Clearing up after pets...

Sadly this is where it can become confusing in my life - whenever my aunt comes to visit and brings her zoo of animals with her - I always required a bagless vacuum.

I felt I was being economical than wasting bags, but would then end up using a bagged vacuum to contain all the dirt and hair. I'm now of the mind that regardless of tech improving with bagless vacs, that I just pretty much don't mind paying out for dust bags. Regardless of dust capture preference though, I find it has to be an upright with a brush bar - suction only only goes so far - even on fabrics like curtains where cats sit on the windowsill and leave their hair every where. Mini turbo brush tool jammed on gets the hair up in seconds. I don't particularly like having to pull pet hair off lint picker tools.

The X uprights are great for removing hair off carpets but the Felix is quicker due to its 4 height manual adjustment and variable suction control for usage of the mini turbo brush on curtains.

Yes I have that too, as my white shorthaired cat loves to sit on the front windowsill when the curtains are closed, and they get plastered with white hairs being a suedette finish. I too use the turbo tool to get rid of them.

Its worse on fleece coats and even a turbo tool has problems getting white hairs off my dark fleece jackets.

I'm really loving my new Purepower to be quite honest, and am still wondering why people hate them so much. Its getting used as the daily hack now, and we'll see how long it takes to blow the motor. For £90 its a great bagged vac, despite being made in China.

And yes, I do the Hoovering with it, being a Hoover!

The only thing I find that works well with fleece are those sticky rollers, or alternatively just wrapping sellotape "the opposite" way around your hand and doing it manually.

I have had three Purepowers, well two and a Dustmanager that I converted to a "Purepower." The last Purepower had a broken pedal, broken height adjuster, HEPA filter door on the back kept pinging off and then the bin door kept refusing to stay on (brand new purchased from Amazon UK).

The previous Purepower in the mid 1990s was better, a lifetime model with a lifetime reuseable washable bag though I used paper bags for the most part. In each case though the Purepower was powerful, both weren't terribly well made.

The Dustmanager in a rented flat I was in was next to useless with its old fashioned split bin. Bought a bag holder clip from a nearby Hoover repair shop and just screwed it into the place where it would usually sit at the back and converted it. So much easier and longer lasting using bags there.
