I like the Hoover PowerMAX Canister. I happen to own the Hoover PowerMAX Supreme. I have been wondering are they any brochures for them. If so. I would like scans of them.

I don't have brochures but....

There were actually a few different PowerMax Supreme models. The PowerMax canister line was around for several years. The First PowerMax Supreme that I know of is model S3611 in brilliant green. It was on the market in the 1997 area. Was Hoover's TOL model for a few years. The unit featured: 25' cord with rewind, 9.8 Amp dual motor system, Large capacity Type S bag, 38528-011 belt 48414081 12" dual row brush roll. Covered on board tool storage sporting Hoover's awesome upholstery nozzle with the red rubber fingers, in addition to long crevice tool, bare floor brush and dusting brush. Below the dusting brush is the Micro Filter that captures carbon dust from the motor. In front of the upholstery nozzle was a red light indicator letting user know that power from main power switch on unit was on and ready for users control at the hose handle. The gas pump styled hose handle had on/ off switch for suction unit, on/off switch for power head and variable speed sliding control. 3 prong powerhead plug, headlight stays on if brush roll is off. Lower wand had a storage hook to hang wands on bottom connection port on canister just above the front wheel. These units were sleek, low profile designs. Power head sported dual brush agitator with belt check window, dual edge cleaning and full width headlight.

The other PowerMax Supreme canister was around 1999. The tan trim from other models was replaced with black trim and black colored attachments. Model S3530 was when they introduced the Windtunnel canister and eliminated the Futura line. The PowerMax Supreme became more of like the former Futura Supreme series with exception of gas pump handle with no controls instead of the straight shaft former handle with suction regulator as was found on navy blue Futura Supreme S3569 canister.

The newer line of PowerMax canisters was as follows:
PowerMax S3510-- red top body, tan bottom, manual cord wrap, straight suction with combo floor tool

PowerMax Plus S3520 - teal top body, tan bottom, black power head with no headlight, single row agitator- part: 48414079, no bare floor brush, traditional style hose handle with suction regulator on handle.

PowerMax Supreme S3530- Deep Wine burgundy top body, tan lower body, Deep wine burgundy Futura style power head. 25' cord with rewind button. 4 piece uncovered tool set. Bare floor brush, cord rewind, headlight, dual brush agitator, part: 48414081, gas pump, non controlled hose handle. 9.3 Amp motor.

PowerMax Deluxe S3610-- Deep wine burgundy. On market for very short time period. Traditional PowerMax styled low profile sleek styled head. Belt view window, gas pump handle with brush roll on/off switch, Covered tool storage with Micro Filter for carbon dust capture. This model was replaced very quickly with the S3607 burgundy PowerMax Deluxe which removed the power head on/off control on hose handle.

PowerMax Deluxe S3601- tan, S3606- translucent blue, S3607- Deep Wine burgundy, S3608 translucent red. PowerMax styled low profile sleek power nozzle. Some models had belt view window, others had it blacked out. Brushroll on/off switch eliminated from hose.

***Kmart Exclusive: PowerMax Runabout S3614- Black: Exact copy of the PowerMax Deluxe S3610 above as it had the brush roll on/off switch.

PowerMax Ultra S3620- Jade Green--Essentially the same as the prior PowerMax Supreme S3611 but with newer 9.3 Amp motor and black furniture protection guards instead of beige.

Below is my Hoover PowerMax Supreme S3530 with serial number starting: 0299 for manufacture date of February 1999.

Power heads

PowerMax power nozzle vs. Futura style Power head.

Inside components are virtually the same. Same motors, same brush roll, same belts, same bases. Covers and top styling are different. Often the PowerMax head had a belt view window, tended to run quieter and also the PowerMax head was lower profile.

The Futura style head from a PowerMax Supreme S3530 is on the left. The traditional PowerMax style head from a PowerMax Deluxe S3607 is on the right.

These power nozzles although stretch belt, have lots of power, lots of torque, clean very well, manuever easy and groom quite well. Automatic height adjustment. They sound awesome.

Hoover PowerMax Deluxe S3601 in tan. Notice that the belt view window has a tan cover in the area instead. The power nozzle is a 2 prong T shaped plug. Hoover eliminated the bare floor switch from the Deluxe series and therefore power nozzle plug is 2 prong rather than 3.

Hoover PowerMax Deluxe S3608 in translucent red. Very few stores had these. I saw them at Lowe's hardware years ago in addition to Authorized Hoover vacuum stores.

This was a revised PowerMax Deluxe. Notice the difference in power nozzle stickers between the above PowerMax Deluxe S3601 and this one. Also the power nozzle has an accordian on it where it exits the power nozzle. Hoover power heads were notorious for wear and tear at connection where cord exited power head. Just depended how tight a user installed cord up wands. The translucent blue S3606 PowerMax Deluxe also had the revisions that the S3608 did.

Hoover PowerMax Runabout S3614. This was a PowerMax Deluxe styled machine but had the 3 prong power nozzle plug with bare floor switch on hose handle. A Kmart Exclusive. Also has the window for the belt view.

***The tool cover is not accurate for this machine though. This machine is my parents, the original tool lid broke and we had this spare around which would have fit a Hoover Windtunnel canister with powered hand tool. This machine would have had a flat tool cover.

Amazing to think that while department stores like Macys and Strawbridges were selling the PowerMax Supreme with far fewer features, Kmart was selling a nearly full featured machine!!

Hoover PowerMax Deluxe S3607

This is the most common of the PowerMax Deluxe series. Maintained the same burgundy color as its predecessor the S3610 but they took away the bare floor switch. Also has the same burgundy of the PowerMax Supreme S3530 but the Supreme is only burgundy on top, the bottom is tan. On the Deluxe, the entire machine is burgundy.

This was my machine, but in lending it to my sister her x fiance sucked up water in the suction unit. I still have the power nozzle for it. Terrific machine!!!

I do have a video of this power nozzle running on the PowerMax Supreme. Due to recent spam issues, I am not posting a public link to it. However, if you private message me, I may be able to send you a link. The unit sounds fantastic. Only shame is that the carpet its being used on was designed to hide foot prints, vacuum marks and other things. You can see some vacuum prints on but not with as much ease as some other rugs.
