Here my hoover convertible update! Everything is going good so far! Any suggestions on how to clean it? Also which people on this site have youtube channels? Put usernames below!

Bon Ami, it's not abbraisive at all> To "shine " the hoods, Brasso does wonders. Rub, buff...
And, I KNOW "hoods".

You're a Hood.

(No offensive, But do you see  what I did there?)

You can wash that bag in mildly warm soapy water, You can use a rag to remove excess Schmutz/Dirt, rinse in warm water.

Don't even try putting it in a washing machine, It's not even recommended to use the washing machine of cloth-bag units.

The same would go for the trim and plastics (Except the HOOD, John apparently knows a thing-or-two about them)!

It you're "Experienced",  and looking to completely overhaul you new Hoover, You could go for the motor. taking it apart and washing ONLY the plastics. You'll find the middle part of the motor shell has part of the magnetic field generation thingy, What ever it is called, is permanently attached to the motor. You could use a dis-infection wipe for that.

Be careful with the motor, DO NOT grip the armature with pliers to remove the fan, I ruined a perfectly good armature and learned that the hard way.

And yes, I have a YouTube channel for vacuums, Vacguy99.

Good luck, And Happy Hoovering!

-Alex.

Alex, why would you not want to run the entire motor through the dish washer? Ive run hundreds of kirby motors through the dish washer and they come out just fine. Is there a difference in material the motor is made of that would cause it to not run normal or not run at all?

He may forget about them in the dishwasher, disaster could strike. He's a beginner, And I was offering beginner's knowledge.

Nothing's stopping him from chucking it in the dishwasher, let him go for it!
