I hope someone can give me an answer to this very frustrating problem. I have a number of Electrolux Automatic (as supplied with 310, 330, 345 & 710 cleaners) carpet/floor nozzles stuck fast on wands and for the life of me I cannot get them off. And I am here to tell you that that plastic is damm tough, I have already damaged one wand trying to get one off. I have tried wrapping a tea towel in boiling water round it, tapping it with a hammer, thumping it with a hammer but all to no avail - I even managed to pull the coupling off a nozzle but the coupling is still stuck fast

Any ideas?

Al

You could pulling the coupling out of the cleaner head (easily done as most are well worn by now) and then putting the boiling water into a large vessel, such as a mug, before standing the coupling in the water.

The problem is usually a collection of fine dust and grit which gets into any available gap between the coupling and the metal pole. As one uses the cleaner, so the grit gets worked further and further between them.

Mine was like that when I got it but I just kept twisting it and it eventually came loose :)

Stuck fast on wands

Hi Al
Have you tried EASY Clyde its a bit like WD40 but for plastics rubber etc the stuff the miele service guy puts under the feet to pull the macine out. I use a lot of it restoring the leather luggage. If you use boliing water you then need to put it into ice to brake the seal. failing all that I have a good vice in my workshop
