I just found this Eureka Model K half buried in the bins of a thrift store outlet location. It could use some new rear wheels and a new nozzle bumper but otherwise is in great shape! It runs like new and makes a nice trio with my Model G and M of the same vintage. I assume they are from the mid 1930's.

The Model K was one of the last straight suction models produced by Eureka and debuted just after the G, followed by the R and the M. The G became the budget model revolving brush model; the R was the mid-line model, and the M was the top of the line model.
Your find is beautiful. For some reason, Model K seems to be very hard to find. I think consumers ended up buying the first revolving brush model from Eureka instead of the straight suction model. Is your serial number somewhere above 2,500,000? There was a 2nd run that began with 2,609,499. |

According to the fine print in the ad (maybe just a pitch) the Model K was originally built for big buildings and hotels.

I have one that, according to the serial number is one of the last 2000 made. Makes so much sense that its a commercial model, as it is painted hammertone silver and has a bolted on, non removable head. Here it is next to my polished model D, only pic on hand. Thank you!
