Yesterday was a great day to find a vintage vacuum! Ever since I was little, I always loved going to the scrap yard to see what I could find. One time I found four Hoover Windtunnels. I wasn't able to keep any of them because they were all damaged by water. This past Saturday I also went to the scrap yard. I was amazed to see a Hoover Convertible model U4377 but after uncovering it from a whole bunch of metal, I saw that the handles as detached and the bag was dry rotted. I tried to convince my dad to let me bring it home but he said he saw bugs in it. I hope that hoover has a nice life in Hoover heaven. The bag on it was a replacement. It was in ok condition besides that the handle was snapped off the base. Yesterday when I was there, the hoover was still there, but it looked even worse. Also there was an iRobot Scooba, probably one of the older models. I thought it as a roomba, but it wasn't. The next thing I found, when I saw it I was confused. It was flipped upside down in a dumpster. I reached in and pulled it out. At first I thought it was a GE and then I thought it was a Eureka. It was neither. I pulled it out and it was a Sanitare???? It looks like it's from the sixties maybe even the fifties. It's in very rough condition. I saw that there was a cloth bag in it, but I took it out because it was dirty and there was holes and garbage in it. It has a cloth hose, how do I clean on of those? And it called a Sanitare Deluxe. I'm not sure if it works, but even if it doesn't I'm going to keep it as a display piece. If any one could give me any info in it, that would be great! Also it only came with the dusting brush. How do I clean a cloth hose?
