First let me say hello to everyone because I'm new here. I have always loved vacuums and no one has ever really understood why. It's great to have finally found a place where people love them too! So I guess this first post will be about a recent discovery inside my 561. I have had this machine for a while now and never have got around to opening it up until last weekend. I started to clean off the communicator and noticed that it was egg shaped except the path where the brushes had worn it down. Where they rode the surface was fairly true. The bearings are still good and tight with no play and everything seems balanced. Has anyone ever run into something like this, and what may have caused it? The motor still runs great with no abnormal vibration so I guess its fine. I'm just curious. Judging by the wear it has been like this for quite a time. Any ideas?

I wish I could post pictures but I didn't take before shots of the motor.
