Your Oreck was made on December 1, 2006. The first two numbers are the year and the last three are the day. |

Actually if I remember correctly the way the manufacturing date reads on Oreck's is the first two numbers are the year and the last three are the day of the year. So your Oreck was made on the 335th day of 2006. |

I like my lime green xl with the special helping handle, that is, as a vacuum for short pile carpet. It is light, and easy to use on short pile, but for anything else, I would use another machine. It cleans OK on a medium pile carpet, but it doesn't leave those deep lines, and it is hard to push on that type of carpet. I have an almost new xl canister too, and I like how lightweight it is, and it filters pretty well for a compact canister, but I wouldn't say suction on it is outstanding. Overall, I think they are good if you have lots of floors and short pile carpet. I like their freshener tablets, and their huge paper bags. Most were made in the u.s, so you have to give them some credit!
