Sooo, I bought a Kirby 510 off ebay - really good shape - to restore. However when I got it, I noticed it's missing the emptor. I decided to buy another 515 off ebay to use for parts because it looked bad in the pictures, but when I got it - it was in great shape - I decided it was too nice to use for parts. In fact it's in better shape than my 510! Does anyone here have a spare emptor they would be willing to part with?

Would like to find another red belt lifter as well.

Also,
Has anyone tried the bags from the link below? Do they work very well?

Thanks,
David M

I'm curious about the bag. It looks close to the factory bag except for the logos. I've seen a few on Ebay with the same bag.

Don't part it out!

Early Kirby 500s are hard to come by!

I think the green bag is real Kirby, I think they just made a conversion kit so it could have a paper bag inside. HEPA?

Below is the other one I got for parts, but I'm going to polish this one up as well:

BTW, I don't like the belt lifter for this one, would like to find the original Red lifter...

Those are ebay item numbers for bags.

That guy you bought the second one from, I bought and returned it as the handle spring assembly was broken, the vacuum safety switch was broken, etc - so it was good for parts but the idiot selling it misrepresented it completely in his listing, so I hope you never got scewed over on it as far as the costs.

None of the bags in the photos above are original Kirby bags. They're all bojack vac-shop parts. If they were original Kirby bags, the Kirby name would spelled out instead of just a "K." Also, the diamond shape around the "K" is not original Kirby -- it was always circles or ovals.

The sunburst belt lifter in the second Kirby is beautiful. It was made for the 560 and 561. The same design was used for the 562 and Sanitronic, with the Kirby logo in tan and brown, then the design was totally changed for the Dual 50.

I offered the guy 30 for the second and he accepted, although the spring on the handle seems fine. Maybe he/she replaced? I really just wanted the emptor - and so far haven't found a place online to pick them up cheap for the 500 series.

Not sure about the belt lifter - it doesn't say Kirby like the photo above just "K" and it is plastic. Not near as cool as the one from the photo above! There isn't a clear covering over the K - I wouldn't think it would be original.

Thanks for posting the item numbers!

Oh, okay - the photo is kinda blurry; it looks like the Kirby had the starburst logo.
