After a complete cleaning of my Aunts Kirby Classic II, I plugged it in and a little light appeared above the on/off switch and the vacuum wouldn't turn on. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

This means the safety switch is not engaged. Make sure the rug nozzle is connected securely. If that's not working, then you will need to remove the motor cover and make sure the linkage connecting the lever on the front to the switch is intact.

The light is to let you know there is power going to the vacuum, and it comes on even if nothing is on the front.

Classic II?

Is there such a thing as a Classic II? Isn't this a Heritage II?

Yes, his machine is a Heritage II. There is a Classic III, though. The real "Classic II" is really the Classic Omega.
