I was on Ebay this morning and found this: a Tradition Blue trimmed Kirby Classic Omega. Looks like it was made over sometime in the 1980's.
I thought I'd post the link here. At one time, I believe it was possible to purchase different colored trim for the different model of Kirbys aka tradition blue for a 1CR or Omega. If that were possible, I think it would be neat to see an Omega done up in Dual Sanitronic 80 Green (with green armored bag). On that note,I wish they made the armored (diamond pattern) in different colors such as Classic 3, and Tradition blue etc. I'm sure someone here would be interested in it. I bet it would look beautiful if the casings were wet sanded and buffed to a mirror shine. Enjoy. Derek. CLICK HERE TO GO TO reo580's LINK on eBay |

Most vacuum wholesalers, who sold repair parts to the vac shops, had a Kit with all the trim pieces, bag, handle, cord, etc. that you needed to convert old Kirbys to look like new models. One place even cut the wings off the rug nozzle for you to make it look like a Heritage II. In the 1980's, old Kirbys were everywhere and all vac shops rebuilt and sold them.
