Just showing a picture of my Caddy Vac that I got on ebay a few months ago just for the heck of it, and to get some thoughts and opinions on the caddy vac. Do you think it was a good vacuum? What did you like about it and what did you hate about it? I personally like it and find it unique, however I like my other Hoovers vacuums better.

Also, how long was it in production? If I remember correctly they came out around '99, but I don't know when they were discontinued and want to know out of curiosity.

Thanks.

Love the Caddy Vac

My grandparents got one for Christmas in 1999, and it lasted until early 2009. Hoover kept them in production until 2004, but I hardly see any collectors with one in their possession.  Your model was one of the BOL machines, and properly an early one at that. The more high-end models had soft-guard bumper and a better filtration system. Although I am biased, I really think this was one of the best Elites Hoover produced. Since they use the smaller Z bag, they are fairly compact and the tool and tool caddy are of good quality. The on-off switch is large, which I find easier to use than the average switch on the side Elites. Enjoy your new Hoover!

Yea, bagintheback,

I kind of figured it was BOL as I've seen pictures of the ones with the soft guard bumper, my Caddy Vac was made in February, 2000 so it is an earlier model. While I do like this vacuum, I like my other hoovers better for some reason, although this does have a much better hose than my widepath tempo has.

When my mom's house was built in around 2006 I remember a contractor or something had left a Caddy Vac there in a shed next to the house. It sat there for a few years and I eventually took it into the garage and turned it on. Dust blew everywhere out of the bottom of it and I wasn't supposed to mess with it so I just put it back. I'm guessing it's been thrown away since it isn't there anymore.

We got the Hoover Caddy Vac in the UK under the Maytag brand.

I posted two videos of this cleaner on my YouTube channel including an unboxing and assembly
video.

It performs very well but the tool suction isn't great.
