Hi all just thought I would introduce myself quickly,

I'm new to this site so I would like to say hi to everyone :)

I've been interested in vacuum cleaners since I was a small child, I would like to meet and chat with new people who are also interested in vacuum cleaners, especially Dysons.

I am starting a collection but only have 7 machines at the moment mainly Dysons, but I'm starting to get interested in other makes and models such as Miele, Electrolux, and Hoover.

I currently have

Dyson dc01 silver yellow
Dyson dc04 absolute purple lime
Dyson dc07 origin
Dyson dc07 precision
Dyson dc11 all floors
Miele s2111
Hoover junior u1650

I hope to hear from fellow collectors soon, also I am after a Dyson Dc01 de Stijl (desperately) and an Electrolux Z345.

Thanks for reading

Tom :)

Hi & welcome, I haven't been here long unlike some of the other members but just to mention you were after a DC01 De Stijl, I have one that's in good condition & comes with 9 filters, 1 belt, & all the tools accept the dusting brush & the floor tool except I might be able to dig them out as they might be somewhere in my room.

Hey thanks for the response, do you have pictures of it? The only thing that could be a problem would possibly be your location as I am in Lincolnshire :(

Hi Tom! Welcome to VacuumLand! I'm sure you'll love it here, people are so friendly and happy to help :)

I currently only have 2 Dyson's, a clutched DC04 and a rather beat up DC01. Although I will be getting another DC04 from George (dysondestijl on here).

Enjoy!

Joe

If you ever sell that tp junior, give me a shout!

Citroen BX - I could swear you sold that DC03 to me last year on Ebay - it had a green wand cap and I had to superglue the cable exit grommet on as the cable was off a different vac. You sold it to me with a green internal cone - correct me if I'm wrong?

I think you lived in Jefferson or Madison St in Tunstall, one of the two

I love that DC15! it looks great in white.

Post# 247765 , Reply# 40   8/26/2013 at 06:00 (3,894 days old) by madabouthoovers ()

The DC15 I had from brand new - I bought it in 2006 and used it for 6 years before retiring it into the collection. I want to preserve it as the DC15 is quite a rare beast, especially now, in good condition, and the white allergy model was probably the rarest variant, with the animal and the origin being more popular. They were very expensive when launched, and only ran for a couple of years before being replaced by the DC18. Many people thought the DC15 was an expensive gimmick, and the DC14 which it was modelled on was a much, much bigger seller. The DC15 was a very heavy cleaner, and this was its main downfall - hence the DC18 and later the DC25, which is like a miniature version of the DC15.

The DC15 will always be significant as it was the very first Dyson Ball cleaner, but it wasn't the big money spinner for Dyson as he thought, with the DC14 outselling it by miles.

The DC15 was also the first Dyson twin motor upright vac - setting the trend for the future models, but this has been another problem for Dyson with many brushroll failures blighting later models, especially the DC24.
