Hello All, Today I've decided to take a trip down to our local Flea Market, And came home with more than just the average Hoover....

First up- A Hoover Elite 350- In near Mint conditioned (I carried this vacuum all the way to the car-As even the wheels where mint!). These are the before pictures, This one shows detail of the Hoover.

Where the "Montgomery" Comes in,

Imagine my excitement when I saw a Hoover Porta-Power!

Now, Imagine my excitement when I turned it around to reveal my first WARDS Cleaner!

Immediately- For the Can't-go-wrong price of $5, It was merrily carried to the Automotive.

Spa Day, Those Lucky Hoovers!

super-sweeper's profile picture

While the Ward's Cord is a moldy night-mare, And The Hoover's bag look as if it took on some water (Not to mention dripping from under the hood- The Rainy day didn't do much good), These cleaners are off to the Spa! It'll be worth the wait!

I'll check back in a  few days with the results,

-Alex Wink

Sure, Why not!

As for the Ward's cord, Once was once a nasty, Moldy mess, Is now a sparkling, white success!

(Say, I wonder what that cord is alying on...)

No, How does somebody even DO this?

super-sweeper's profile picture

I've never seen an Elite's fan cracked like that! Perhaps due to the Brittle plastic? I usually see the screw retainers cracked, though.

Again, Heading for the worse...

I didn't think the rain treated this HOOVER as bad as it did!

Just LOOK at that corrosion? I wonder what I should treat it in?

Alex...I wonder if this was a Hurricane Sandy victim transported south? I hear that a lot of the cars (thousands) are showing up all over the country...

Could be!

"never seen"

Actually the fan housing cover with 'circle' cut into it was somewhat common on early Elite repairs. Not so on later models. Also many broken belt side motor brackets.--The Elites were a good value for the $$ and over time can give less problems than the bigger, heavier deluxe models with power drive, dual belts and more.--Happy Hoovering.

Oh,

super-sweeper's profile picture

Well, This is likely my First Pre-1990 Elite repair!

Luckily, I checked and saw that I had a spare fan chamber off a 200 lying about. The screw holes are coming apart, But I suppose it will do for now Laughing
