Hello to everyone out there! Been a long time lurker, finally got up the nerve to introduce myself. My name is Larry, stuck in East Central IL, have been an old vacuum fan since the age of 2, am 25 now. My oldest vac as of present is a very battered lime-green Eureka Princess straight suction canister, probably early 70s. Trying to find out what vac we had as a boy. I remember it was another Eureka canister, maroon finish, branded "Quiet Kleen" on the side. If I recall correctly, had the Vibra-Groom powerhead, not sure what model run. Had a headlight and belt-view window. If anyone can post pics of models that may be it, I thank you very kindly.

-Larry E. Paden

Additional info for those who are curious.

And, before I am asked, an explanation of my user name. I am primarily a banjoist, my predominant style is the old-time frailing style. Thanks, Larry.

Hi Larry. Welcome to Vacuumland.

I'm glad you introduced yourself, please feel free to share your interests with us.

Like you I was also bitten by the vacuum cleaner bug at the age of 2, but for me, that was 60 years ago. My interest was the Electrolux model LX. To a child of that age, the ejection process was very funny. I also know that my interest had a lot to do with the person who owned that Electrolux. As a child I was given the chance to nurture the interest, and by my late teens was interested in the history.

Since you have been a member for a while, I'm sure you've read several posts where I talk about the founding of the V.C.C.C. with John Lucia. If you have any questions please feel free to ask us, and we will do our best to provide that information.

Alex Taber.

no one cries when you cut up a banjo!

harhar, sorry..i play guitar and mandolin and bass, mostly bluegrass and old time country..ive played with banjos before and could do clawhammer style fairly well actually..what i really want is a 6 string banjo...anyway, welcome!
