>>Really!? Has it been in daily use? You over-estimate the cleanliness of my house... Carpet vacuuming is fortnightly at best. BugBear |

Indeed, with the round belts the only brand you can really use is Genuine Hoover.
Due to the effort required to turn the brush roll, only the strongest (I.E. Hoover) belts will last any amount of time. With flat belts it is a different story - since they don't have to work as hard - but round belts wear out quickly at the best of times, let alone with a generic belt made with poorer quality rubber. |

I always try to 'hoover' up genuine belts for my machines when I see them on eBay. Got 8 packs of turbo power belts that way! |

I normally strip the cable back until it's long enough to loop around the screw in question, and keep the wire tucked in when doing the screw up. If there was a crimping tool to replace the ringlets then I would be interested in it! |

I asked this on another forum, and a guy said he'd found the same terminal crimps on an old Kenwood Chef (only a week ago, by coincidence) Looks like it's more of a period thing than a Hoover thing. BugBear |

'haunts' in the Philadelphia burbs. Any time I see genuine Hoover belts or bags, or even tools, I usually grab them. I figure, if I don't have that machine, I know someone who does.
I've gotten genuine Hoover Dial-A-Matic belts, (2 still in the original package), for $1.00...bags (in sealed package..$1.00 or $.95. How could you pass them up? well, I guess some could. You never know what you're going to find. John |
