When I was a kid I collected any and all things vacuum. I had everything from shop vacs to uprights. When I was about 8 or 9 my mom finally put a stop to it and sold off my collection of 29 vacuum cleaners.

I am now 27 and looking to get back into the realm of collecting. I am going to start collecting filter queens. I purchased my first a D31X for $5.00 at a local thrift store and just yesterday I found a Majestic 360 Triple Crown on eBay for $31.22. It seems like it's going to be a fairly cheap hobby, and I can't wait to expand my collection.

If anyone has any older or newer FQ's that they would like to get rid of, please let me know.

Thank you for your time.
David

your mom should not have done that. a hobby is a hobby that should be encouraged. if my mom had done that to me i would have sold her tupperware collection to let her know how it felt.

Re parents..

My Dad made all sorts of insulting comments to me, but he was too afraid of my Mother to actually throw out any of my stuff!LOL, I was forced to sell off a bunch of stuff when I lost my job in 05, some things I can never replace, so dont lose hope, just do like me and start over, send me a list of what you are hunting, maybe I can help.

Same here, my mom hates my vacuums, she tried not to sell, them, but put them outside of the back yard, or alley, but I put a stop to this by putting a lock, on my door, she hates my vacuums just because.., they used to belong to some old dead lady, She thinks they are haunted. Gives her the creeps!!

Regarding parents...

...If my Mom sold my vacuum collection, I would sell her collection of old toys, which she keeps because of the sentimental value they possess, as they belonged to either me or my other siblings when we were little. But since I keep that threat hovering around her, she hasn't touched my machines ;)

Good luck with your re-activated hobby.

One thing we need to put you right on, unless you have terrific self control, there is no way it is going to be a cheap hobby LOLOLOL

Enjoy

I have a Filter Queen model 31 from 1975 that's yours for the shipping. It's complete, wands are worn, but attchments are all pretty good, hose is good, etc. Best of all it has all the bells and whistles -- floor polisher, grinder, felt attachment for floor nozzle, bristle strip for upholstery nozzle, etc. all brand new in a Health-Mor box -- never used. It also has instructions, and original bill of sale. It runs OK, the motor's a little noisy on power-down, and suction's OK. My guess is that the exhaust filter is dirty.

Anyway, let me know if you want it. I pulled it from the curb this morning at a house down the street -- couldn't bear to see it go to the landfill.

Mike

Thank You All!

I wanted to take some time and thank all of you who have written. It has been great to find some like-minded people who share the same passion as myself.

I can't wait to get my collection growing.

Thank You.
David
