Just been to pick this up from the seller. Got a receipt too that I had to sign, never had one before for a hoover!

Only had half an hour lunch break, so drove over to mums, plugged it in in the utility room and turned her on. Purrs sweet as a nut, with the slight sound of dry bearings on wind down, and a massive billow of dust from the empty bag!

It also seems to push around ok without the rear wheel, I'm aiming to go back to mums tomorrow to wash the girlfriends car, so will take a spare belt with me, vac out the bag quickly and give mums front room a going over for a proper test!

Oh, and the bulb doesn't work! Will have to see what type it is and get some. Need a bulb for the 875 too, may buy them one day!

Currently sat in the garage!

Those are workhorses! I have the 918, all original, I call it the iron horse. Its a shame they don't make commercial hoovers like that anymore! Great find!

My car has self levelling hydropnumatic suspension, and it had to self level once I'd put it in the boot. It is a heavy beast.

Your car has hydro-Pneumatic suspension? Must be one like this then lol I thought Citroen were the only ones to use it, and it was phased out decades ago:

I have an XM, and the back sunk down when I loaded the 912, and I could feel it rising for a few mins (it doesn't work 100%)

Had a quick play with it

Needed to vacuum some car mats earlier, so used the 912, as it's useable with the missing wheel.

Firstly, I had to turn the bag inside out and vac it thoroughly to stop it blowing dust everywhere. Also gave it a vac whilst the machine was on and the bag inflated. Gave the bag adapterseal a quick wipe so it vaguley tried to keep the dust in!

Hoovered the mats, should have filmed it, it was immense the amount of sand that bounced out. After this, I changed the belt

Was very stretched but still seemed to work well! The new belt has quietened it down alot though

10 minuted with a stanley knife got this off

Missing the ratings plate sadly so will never know how old it truly is!

Couldn't resist undoing the 2 screws and seeing the motor! Has no bulb, anyone know the modern car-type equivilant so I can grab one on ebay?

Made a quick video, and it looked better in person! Had the height adjuster set to thin, rather than norm and the brushroll bearings are very dry. Still, not used for 30 years* and fires right up!

*30 years stated on the ebay ad. Despite the fact it had fresh-ish dirt in the bag. Hey ho!

Here's my car when I sunk it into the long grass at a carboot sale! The 912 made it do that at the rear in a few minutes! Then again, the sphere which keeps the pressure is broken, so it sort of does it anyway after a few days when empty, but not as quickly!
