I was on Dirt Devil's website and was browsing the manuals and found this one (file 34). And it is a Regina manual!!! It looks exactly like a Dirt Devil Breeze bagged! Check it out here!! Was this on their website becuase Regina used Dirt Devil's design? Any comments or thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Yes, I have seen a black one labeled as Regina at the thrift store.

Royal bought the rights to the Regina name in 2000, and used rebranded Dirtdevils for the product line. Check out Reply #7 on the link below for a more detailed history.

Oh no...does that mean TTI now owns the rights to the famous Regina name?

If yes, here are the brand-names owned by TTI: Hoover, Royal, Dirt Devil, Vax, Oreck and Regina. When are they going to buy up Shark/EuroPro?

That second Dirt Devil link to another Regina upright looks very similar to the LG upright bagged vac I had in the 1990s. Similar front, base plate and rear, even though the LG had a better design with a plastic looped handle and the hose at the back. Perhaps the LG was an early TTI/Dirt Devil in disguise.

Well....

I am not quite sure what to say. All of these brands were so good. Why does TTI need everything, they don't!

So what if TTI do - none of those brands have survived independently - what would you rather have? A home company who can take care of these brands or to see the brand sink into obscurity?>

Is Bissell owned by TTI?

Sebo-Fan

For example Dirt Devil's were great until TTI came along

Well, on the basis that Vax UK were importing Dirt Devil Swift uprights (and so many others) from the U.S, it gave Vax a bigger market share than they had had previously. TTI ownership thereafter allowed more "Vax" products to be sold.

From previous posts on here, it seems that some Hoover uprights in the U.S under Maytag ownership were worse than previous. TTI aren't to blame for sole destruction of building poorer vacuums - they can built good quality vacuums - but I rather think it is down to economy and cost of parts, one reason alone to why TTI are producing similar vacuums in a lot of the brands they own.

I don't think TTI own Bissell outright but rather share a division of products amongst the brands, in the same way that Shark seem to follow suit - up until very recently for example, Shark's uprights have made it over here under the Morphy Richards brand - and the two companies seem to be developing very similar products. Or just swap and rebadge.

Yeah...

I wonder what Bissell would be like if TTI owned it. But Bissell is managing its own way right now.

What happened to Vax™ USA? I typed in vaxusa.com & it says vax.com; but it doesn't show USA, Canada or Mexico on the website.

Um..

I am not sure I remember seeing a few Vax uprights in USA at BestBuy a few years ago but I dont see them anymore. Maybe they didnt do well here.

From my understanding, the Vax USA website folded after TTI took over - reason being that the X3/X5/VX1/AVC previous upright was not a TTI product, but rather one that was developed between Bosch of Germany and Vax. Didn't stop Dirt Devil producing a version for themselves though.
