I'd say that's well worth the $7.00! My parents bought that vacuum new in 1995 and used it for about 8 years before giving it to my older brother when he moved into his first house. I believe it still may be in use in his basement. At the time, it was a great vacuum. The dealer threw in the extra long hose and floor brush with the accessory kit and it got a workout at their house. I was the primary user of the vacuum and the only thing I didn't care for was the lack of a brushroll on/off switch and the doggy smell. Regardless, it was a very durable machine!

1995...

Well, thats a new machine for me LOL! I think the newest thing I have owned is a 1984 Filter Queen, my daily use machines are mostly 1950s and 60s.

I'll send you a few HEPA bags, a new belt, and new brush strips for it. Just like the vacuums you DO enjoy, this one is actually repairable. Think of it like a very powerful Dial-A-Matic with great filtration. I actually think that you'll come to really like that vacuum.

Thanks Tom..

I knew better than to pass this one up! It really does seem to have a lot of power!

I used to believe that Simplicity's were lower end of Riccar's lineup, but now that I've joined here, I have learned otherwise. I don't think it could help it's doggy smell. That's primarily the result of usage, lol.
