At the 04 convention which was held just outside of Chicago, I offered to host the 05 convention. Since I lived in San Diego at the time, I thought a trip to Hollywood would be great. The idea was to combine the convention with a look at all the old tv shows featuring vacuum cleaners.
A week after leaving Chicago, I spoke to the manager of the Holiday Inn on Hollywood and Vine. Saw a meeting room and asked for prices. The manager told me that she needed to deal directly with the club president. This was R.J. Vanic, and that was the last time I was in charge. R.J. took over, threw out my ideas and hosted the convention. As far as I know, it was the lowest turn-out of our conventions. Because it was close to San Diego, I loaded up my best non electric, and early electric machines. Here are a few. |
