As many of you know me will kbow that I love Hoovers and they are my main interest and make up the majority of my collection. Today I thought I would bring down all my Hoovers to see how many I actually had (13) and I thought I would take a photo since I had them out.
This is my current Hoover collection and will probably continue to grow.
Please show me your HOOVERS.
Here are mine, in date order.

... I just don't think Hoover has made a truly quality product since the Decade 80. And even those I wasn't terribly impressed with. I miss the Convertible!

I agree, most of their uprights (at least on this side of the pond) after 1983 were not that well built, they did make a come back with the Turbopower 2 that is one of the sturdiest all plastic vacuums I have used. The Elites were not all that sturd, but acceptable. The windtunnels (at least the one I used was very creaky and groany.

Argh!! I knew I forgot one, I was stood there ready to take the photo an I thought there was something I forgot. I do still have that, I find it very difficult to get rid of any vacuum that has those 6 wonderful letters on! Ha!

Which one do you mean? I know that in the UK, what we call the Dial A Matic is called the Convertible. What we call the convertible is the one on the right.

Joe

Hi-lo, yes it's not bad. Filter does not clog very easily unlike lots of pleated filters.
Hose is stretch and is very long
Telescopic Handle can be removed and used as an extension pipe
Long enough cable
OK brushroll

There is actually a story behind that Convertible. I had been looking for that model for a while, and when I finally found it, I couldn't pass it up. The only way anyone could take it away from me would be to pry it from my cold dead fingers. :-)

Wow! You waited so long, but that is one great set of HOOVERS. I'm glad you got them all. I only have one of those Convertibles. They are great.

I'm trying to organize my HOOVER products. There are around 100 non -floor care items here, and around 300 cleaners, polishers, etc. I KNOW.............. yikes. NYC Writer, I agree. The "Decade" era was the last of the best.

That Convertible is almost identical to the one my Dad let me pick out and buy all by myself in 1977. I have two other Hoover's I don't have a picture of yet. One is a blue Concept One with power drive, and the other is a Like new Floor Mate with Spin Scrub. Haven't used it yet, but it looks interesting.

I've always loved every Convertible and Elite. Elite's have always been special to me. I think after the Elite era was when Hoover started going downhill.
