We havn't had many Rainbows on here so I thought I should post this. It's an Ebay (groans from the audience) find. I was lucky is was only a few miles from here so I picked it up and saved a ton on shipping. Are these very rare? You see tons of chrome domes, but I have only seen a couple like this. It's not perfect, but it runs good and should clean up nice. What do you guys think? Nicholas

Got one like that-got it from the Kirby dealer when he was operating out here-was traded in towards a Kurby at the time.Does yours have the metal dolly?Mine has the metal dolly with the rollers so the machine rolls along.Mine has a few dents in the top of the powerdome housing.the motor in mine runs quiet and smooth.

Here's a pic of everthing when I first brought it home. As you can see the dome was on backwards. I had to fix that it was driving me nuts. Thats all I have done so far. I pulled all the stuff out of the box hoping to find a manual or paperwork, but there was none. I did find that the hose was petrified into the shape of the box! I'll have to give here the treatment when I have time. Nicholas

WOW! That is a great find! Yes, I believe they are more uncommon than the chrome-domes. And what a great find WITH THE BOX!! Is that the original power cord or is it a replacement? My guess would be replacement. But still, they are pretty good vacuums (not the best filtration...) and will last you a long time.
Yes the cord is a replacement. It should be a three prong. I think this is just a plain extention cord. There isn't even a strain relief. I'll have to put at least a proper replacement on it. Maybe when school lets out... Nicholas
