Hi i was invited to share pics of a hoover 262 that we think was a hoover factory refurbishment on auto washer .org and thought it was best to place it here. Although i have more vacs than washers they are not really photographed so have not really done much posting here (but done a lot of watching!) So hello to you all!

Richard

It's certainly a recon...

...but whether factory or not, I couldn't say. At least it's in dignified colours, which match! The handle will be a replacement for the original light or dark brown one - I have an unused one myself in a box of spares.

You have some nice cleaners there, especially the 652 with the very rare vinyl bag.

Speaking of 262's, here's one on eBay which made serious money on eBay this evening: 170160796366

I paid £5 for mine, although I don't have a manual to go with it. You can see a video of mine in action below:

Nice pic.. what is that bright orange cleaner sitting behind the connie. It looks very much like a Sears Kenmore Duo Power aka Panasonic/Matsushita of the mid 70's with the on/off buttons on top of the bag casing.

That's a Junior Deluxe - I hope Clark won't mind me directing you to his site:

Hi Ricky, Welcome to the vac club, great selection of machines etc...was talking to Seamus about this 262 last night, we wondered if it was a Hoover "Commercial Re-Build", at least the colours are sympathetic to it, I think it looks very kewl!!!

Thanks for showing, MIke

Good work Clark. To think that about 20 odd years ago I ran across an early, probably prewar Junior at a flea market in surprisingly excellent condition but when I looked at it and saw it was UK 220v I didn't take it. That was in the days prior to my collecting vacs though. Funny what you remember.

Hi Ricky, and welcome. Love your vacuums. Could you tell us about your TV sets on the off topic Vacuumland site? I collect them too, but nowhere near as old or nice as yours.
