So- the challenge begins, I've had this thing in storage for ages and now comes the time to disassemble it and give it a bath. Here's everything in pieces.., |

Here's the motor that needs replacing but I'm too poor to get a new one so I'm just going to lubricate the bearings |

"I cannot understand that whilst you can get a new Dyson motor pattern part for around £20, you wont find a pattern motor for a modern Miele vac."
The reason is due to Dyson using "off the shelf" Panasonic and YDK motors. These motors are shared by other vacuum manufacturers. Miele, however, makes their own motors. Because of that, there isn't the demand for an aftermarket company to make motors that will only fit one brand, especially for one that is known for reliability. |

To those who can't get it to upload from that link...
Gawd what a noise, even after repairing - what a pity you can't buy another motor. Check EBAY UK for the older yellow S4210 incase you can buy that one as a donor machine- it has an 1800 watt motor, otherwise the yellow S4211 has a 2000 watt motor. CLICK HERE TO GO TO sebo_fan's LINK |

The only Domel motor used by Miele is the one that powers the Wessel Werk manufactured SEB 213 and 217.
Miele Vortex vacuum motors are made in-house at Miele's Euskirchen factory. CLICK HERE TO GO TO piano_god's LINK |

See item number on EBAY UK 181164740131 - 15 hours left on that one (red 1800 S4 "Parquet" but has the standard 2 pedalled combo tool shown).
Also see on EBAY UK 190860477587 - S4211 yellow model with 2000 motor. Both could serve as donor models. On a separate note, I've only just noticed a high number of S6 Cat and Dog models on sale, used. That's quite strange to see. |

I was going to add a new thread, but to heck - John Lewis are doing a clearance on many products - A Dyson and a Miele S5211 base black model reduced to £159-95.
