I recently purchased some Kirby Odorific since I can't find Sweet-Aire. I poured a number if drops down the whole on the back of my emptor on my 515. I don't notice the smell coming out. Do I need to have the plug because its missing.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Keith

You may need to pour more into the wick in the back of the sani emptor to fully saturate it. The other option is to apply to cotton balls and suck thru the machine. I use odors away from the hardware store. Works every time with out fail.

Thanks

I might just take the bag off the emptor and thoroughly clean out the emptor. Probably hasn't been done in years. Thank you for the ideas.

Right, Steve. In the back of the Kirby Classic III instruction book, it says to apply one drop of Odorific to a cotton ball, and then vacuum up the treated cotton ball.

Brilliant

Never thought of vacuuming up cotton balls with it on it. I'll try it. Thanks again.

Also..

Put some on a cotton ball, then place it in the sani pocket, it is diffused evenly that way.

If all else fails you can try a spoonful of Mulberry Feather Lite Carpet & Vacuum Freshener. I get it at my local Kirby repair shop, but not many people have it and only a store can order it. That single spoonful really makes your whole house smell great, and best of all it has staying power that doesn't cost a lot.

Cleaned out Emptor

WOW!!!! Thanks to everyone for the help. On your recommendation I cleaned out the emptor and found the wick. It was burried by almost 70 years of gunk, hair and God only knows what else. Here are the after photos. Like an idiot I didn't take before shots. Thanks again. Can't wait to get some Odorific and see what happens. If nothing else at least it's clean.
