Can anyone help me? Just put a brand new Dirt finder Bulb in my TM and its blown out! Only been in there 3 days :-( Could it be something with the machine itself? and thats easily fixed atal?

Maybe you just got a dodgy bulb

Keeps blowing?

One bulb blowing isn't 'keeping' blowing, as has been said it could have been a bad bulb.

Was there a working bulb in it before? If not, are you certain the leads to the bulb are connect in the right place on the motor? It should be delivering 12v when correctly connected, but could be a lot more if it's wired incorrectly.

Also, any excessive vibration will shorten the life of a bulb.

I'd say dodgy bulb or vibration. Do the wires look like they have been touched? If you give me the model number I'll get the service pages scanned in for you.

Hi sam. Model number U5096. Thanks. Hopefully a faulty bulb. The TM I used to have had none of these problems and that was the same Model. Although yes...The bulb was gone when i got it.

You can buy packs of 10 for a few quid on ebay. Got one in my turbo power plus and its fine

Realy? i may have a look then. The one in my junior Dirtsearcher Deluxe is fine too and has allways worked. Never even changed it. The one i got for the Tm was a genuine Hoover Component. Will get some more tho and give it a go..See if i can figure out wheather its the Bulb or the Vacuum itself :-) Hows your boost coming on sam? Saw your thread the other day that you were stripping it down? :-)

Oh, and the boost is back together now. Needed to do some preventative gluing on certain bits but running well now. Video up on YouTube now!

Thanks for that info sam. I got it working again now. Phew!! I think it was excessive vibration as some parts were loose which made it much louder. Stripped it down and re fastened everything and its running like a dream.

Good man, satisfying job?

It was Actually quite satisfying. It looks like new again. My cam is working now so will get a pic for you:-) The only thing thats missing is the Tool Caddy on the back. Hopefully will get hold of one somewhere soon. Sam do you know if one from a turbopower would fit the master? If so i may be able to get one off ebay at somepoint as ive often seen more spares for the powers than masters on there.

I've never seen a turbomaster before, let alone measured the toold caddy I'm afraid.

Could measure my turbopower caddy for you, but it's quite curved at the back, I always imagined a TM back to be squarer.

Could you not glue it back together?

Tool caddy and hose caddy is same size for both Turbopower and Turbomaster, so you're alright there, but for information only, the early Turbomaster hose caddy won't work on the Turbopower as the port for the wand is open ended and not closed. Those models will be rare now though.

Mine came without one unfortunately. I think the tp Tool caddy as vintagerepairer said is the same as the tools are the same for both tp and tm. Just the hose thats different. I will get hold of one at someoint im sure :-)
