I just picked this up off Ebay, I love Elites so I couldn't pass it up. Can anyone tell me a year that it may have been manufactured? Also, I'm reasonably sure that the bag is not original so can anyone tell me what the original would have looked like? Does anyone possibly have an original?

Your Hoover Elite 350 was manufactured in March of 1989, as indicated by the first four digits of the serial number. The original bag was white with a faint beige interlocking hexagonal pattern.

Below is the specification sheet showing the cleaner with its original bag.

Elite bags

As above your bag may be correct. These became a good vac for the price.
In the 80s there was almost an epidemic of the standard cloth bag not being folded to fit the slide on top and not allowing paper bag to expand.Almost every one I saw for belt or service had bag extending beyond slide. You may have noticed Hoover added an insert to the manual to explain proper folding.
(I do have some good used bags and handles if anyone needs.)

Correct Bag

I'm hoping that it is the correct bag, going off the brochure and comparing it to the item the bag looks like it might be generic since it seems to be lacking the hoover logo in the upper corner. If its not original I'm hoping someone may have one!

I have an Elite 350 with a maroon bag. Mine was produced Sept. of 1989. This is the first I've seen of them using a beige bag on this model. I also have an Elite 200 in mint green, but I've seen them produced with white bases as well. Were certain colors sold by certain stores? I know the Kmart models had a stripe through the bag.
