This may be silly, but I've noticed that some vacuum cleaner manuals change little over the years.

I had a Kenmore canister manual from 1987 and compared it to my Kenmore Progressive canister manual from 2012. Both of them use a lot of the same headings and give many of the same tips and cautions, and even some of the diagrams and drawings are nearly the same. Other times they just used they used the same diagram and changed it slightly to show the newer design.

I've also noticed Bissell manuals have kind of stayed the same since the 1990s also, such as comparing a new Bagless Powerforce manual to a 1990s Bissell Plus manual.

I guess if something works there's no real need to change things.

I've noticed by that with my turbo powers. In the instances when the only difference is the model number its the same manual, just with the front cover edited!

I guess there's only so many ways to explain the same steps!

I have a complete collection of virtually all the vacuum cleaner owners manuals. My oldest is a 1910 Royal instruction book, and a 1911 Hoover owners manual. It wasn't until the 1920's that owners manuals started getting really "well done" with their wording and the photos. By the 1930's they were almost works of art (the 1937 Electrolux and 1940 Rexair model B owners books immediately come to mind). By the '50's, they were starting to become little more than brochures.
