next was the hose end this is what i call a back to front cleaner because the wand used to fit into the hose end it eventually split [the plastic just couldnt cope with the continual back and forth strain]so i heated up the plastic bit and stuffed in a sawn off numatic wand that had been crushed by the bin wagon

Ha nice beater! Love the home made mods I only have the miele, but my mum has a dc05 I pulled out of a skip, uses it upstairs and for messy cleanups and diy (on my request so she doesn't break her miele.

Its mint though as I restored it before giving it to her. Will become like yours I imagine

Oh yeah I have some like that, I used to use my 2 Henry's for tough jobs but both the Henry's have retired now even though the older one (from 2000) still gets used downstairs sometimes.
I often use my dyson DC25 believe it or not for messy jobs inside the house!!
But the one vacuum I have that just keeps going is my earlex combivac I use it for 3 cars, garage, carport, back yard as I have a rabbit and his hay/food gets all over the back yard!!
It's very noisy but it sucks very well it's been used to unblock a drain once eeeew lol it's crevice tool is broken, and that's the second one it had, one of the pipes are broken, floor tool is broken, it's hose connector thing is broken and its filthy was using it last night and it was blowing a load of crap out of the exhaust turns out the filter had come out inside lol

I have this old Hoover Mach 3 I use in the Workshop for clean-up, Such as vacuuming out someone's overload fantom, or dust-bunnies mocking the tonnage of elder cleaners.

The handle snapped in half (Cheap-O Plastics) And have been meaning to put a Toggle Switch in it's place.

I disconnected the belt, and so far this little thing just keeps on sucking!

Mine would be...

...my Kenmore canister. The power nozzle has no release button, the wands are jammed together, the bag compartment doesn't stay shut, the front swivel caster is missing, the cordwinder squeaks, and the base is cracked with several duct taped spots. Otherwise, it works flawlessly and is one of my favorite vacuums to use.

Well there is this...

A 1999 or 2000 Dirt Devil Swivel Glide. It's purple andlived a hard life. It survived several moves, sucked up crap it wasn't designed too, it survived all of my dad's temper tantrums. The lid is warped and has to be pushed shut when turned on (neglected to change bags), the handle is just on by gravity (busted screw bosses), the lock on the foot pedal is busted, the cord has been rpelaced, and the filters are bad. It's been retired form house work and is now used as a shop vac in the garage.

Fantom lightening

One of my neighbors gave it to me a long time ago because she broke the wand so te power nozzle could no longer be used, no matter how many times I glued it. The cord was cut off at some point so I had to put a new cord on it, it caught on fire, I had to put the hose back on and replace the cord again, but it keeps going strong!

It's like Dr. Frankenstein robbing the graveyard for spare body parts, and when gets back to the castle, and after he reassembles his ghoulish loot he shoots a little electricity thru it, and he then screams," IT'S ALIVE, IT'S ALIVE!!"
