Ok, here is the HI - VAC. Dad has had this in the garage for 10 years, he got it when he brought a lathe but we never used it. So, the Dyson has gone, and as a temporary measure, I'm borrowing this! I've been told it's mid 90s.

So that's all I know about it, and so here are the few pics I took of it, no post cleaning pics, sorry.

Chris

Pic 2

In the shed, so I could fire it up. Does it work? Loudly!

That's the final pic, I'll pop a vid up later.

Chris.

Oops

I should add, it is bag-less. It's a commercial vacuum apparently and it's made by ReddyVac.

Chris

Hoover

had cleaners branded under their name and sold for commercial use, the likes of which were almost identical to this. Even the motor unit was the same on the much smaller plastic dry-only vacuum. This would have been late 1980's and into the 90's.

OMG I have two of the same chairs wooden bent backed black VINYL that you have = 1970s ones - belonged to my parents. The Hi-Vac also reminds me of Hoover commercial vacuums available in the UK for a short time, in orange. I put a few photos on here in an old link but I can't seem to find them

Hey dan,
Apologies for the awful storage conditions of some of my vacs!!
I only keep those ones there as there is the ReddyVac, mastervac, Miele S4, vax cylinder and eiectroulx cylinder there, none of which I care the greatest deal about!

Look, sorry guys, the Miele is awaiting refurbishment!
It sounds terrible when you use it, it absoultely stinks, no really it makes you want to throw up, but when I've dissasembled it for the fourth time, cleaned it up, seen what I can do about the motor, got some new bags/filters THEN I'll start to love it again!!

Make sure you use genuine Miele bags ONLY. It's amazing how many Miele's you see being written off as a result of the owner using cheap, generic bags.

I had a Hoover Commercial version of this from the late 80s, it was a good little vac actually, click the link for a video of it, mine wasn't that noisy. The motor was similar to that of a Hoover Compact of the time, it definitely sounded like a Compact

@Ultraperformer

Leave washers!?? Gosh no, washers are waaaaaayyyyy better and far more interesting than vacs. I only joined to offer up my NVQ250!

@Sebo_fan

I've got 2, one is in the storage shed, and the other one is in the shed. :D

So, is it that rare? I don't think so, but I won't bin it because of it's powerful suction :D

Chris.

Here's a vid on my YouTube, switch on vid still to come!
