Well the dc07 I kindly got for free off of someone on the forum has now blown its motor. Last few days has been an electrical smell when first turning on and today well it sounded like the motor has seized. Motor all frozen up and bad smell of electrical burning.
What are my options - another dc07 refurbished off of eBay for about £40-60, a refurbished dc14 for about £70 or pay Dyson £80 to come and refurbish this one? Don't really want to replace the motor on this Dyson's seem to be a nightmare to get into. Was loving this until this happened, so it's back to my trusty Henry in the shed! £25 year old and never let me down! Just clumsy to heck! |

Well if you choose the £80 dyson option then they'll come and replace absolutely any broken parts on the machine... |

Seen 3 dc14's from Dyson outlet on eBay....
There's an "animal" "exclusive" & an "overdrive" version. Can't really tell from description which one to go for. I have a cat so the turbine tool would be useful on both the animal and overdrive version. However I also have 50/50 mix of wooden floors but do I avoid the ones with a clutch? As the dc07 did fine on the wooden floors with the brush roll operating. How does the hose compare on the dc14 to the dc07? Easier? |

scrap it and get a second hand Sebo X series or Miele S7. I've had a DC07 new and a DC14 and both were rubbish. They're a pain in the ass to work on too |

Try a dc04 without clutch, ask Turbo500 |

Tayyab I must admit one of the only Dyson's I was quite fond of was a DC04 De Stijl, I really liked that one it was much nicer to use than the 07 |

I agree, probably one of the best Dysons, I hate my dc25, its all complex especially with the pull out wand, springy designs etc |
