HI!

I picked up a lovely $12 Hoover "Wall-to-Wall" Shampooer today, but am Clueless as to how to Identify Carpet Shampooing brushes from Floor Conditioning brushes?

(I don't want to ruin the thing, I've heard using the floor brushes on carpet can kill the poor scrubber!)

Is there a way to tell the two different pads apart from each other? Thickness? A marking? A stamp?

I'm looking forward to cleaning the tiles later on...But don't want to end up with a exploding Hoover!

Thanks,
-Alex.

With the Hoover shampooer/polishers, the carpet shampoo brushes will have soft, long black bristles around just the outer periphery of each brush. The floor scrubbing/polishing brushes will have quite stiff, beige and yellow bristles which cover the entire mounting plate of each brush (save for a small round opening in the center for the polisher's driveshaft fits.through.)

Floor brushes are very stiff, similar to a hair brush, and tend to be red. Carpet brushes are soft and black. Here is a picture of a Hoover Floormax. The carpet brushes are currently on the machine and the floor brushes are next to it.
