Eureka Mighty Mite 3670G-4?

This is my first post and hope it is OK to ask a technical question.

I have a Mighty Might 3670G-4 little vacuum cleaner with a bad odor problem caused by the rubber motor mounting gasket (doughnut).
This rubber mounting gasket is made from some strange Beige colored material that feels like dense foam rubber. The problem is it smells like old rotten inner tubes. This smell becomes unbearable when the motor heats up. I hate to throw this away the brushes on the motor are not even seated good.

Does any one know if Eureka made a motor mounting gasket out of a better material, like silicone?

Thanks Ron.
