I finally found a Fantom Fury vacuum an Craigslist somewhat near me and I'm going to pick it up today! I've been trying to find one of these for years mainly because its a childhood vac. The only problem is its missing the headlight lens and all of the attachments.....Still though I'm very excited to get it! Maybe I will be able to find same attachments and a headlight lens somewhere someday. For know I'm just FINALLY glad to have MY Fantom!

Sadly its in very bad condition and is going to need a LOT of work to even look/work decent. Oh well a somewhat broken fantom is better then no fantom!

Hey

Glad you found a Fantom. I had one of these in the late 90's but I didn't like it because it leaked dust and it would collect dust on the outside of the vacuum itself while cleaning..........Did you have a different experience with these? I guess I'm just wondering why you like this model so well?

Aint it amazing how exited we get at finding an old and now rare vac that our parents owned when we were children? Its always the one from when we were about between the ages of 5 and 10, the one that our mothers used to use and many of us were fascinated with, because of the noise they made or their features.
For me, it was finding a 1975 Hoover Senior Ranger U4002, the exact same model that I very first remembered that my folks had when I was a little boy. Yes, it certainly is amazing how much old vacs bring back memories of the events associated with them.

I think ...

... it makes me feel darn old that the Fantom was someone's CHILDHOOD vac!

Oy.

My childhood vac was the Hoover Convertible 1060.
