Evening Chaps

What can you tell me about the Hoover 875? The briefest of info I found on here suggests it ran for 6 months only.

Can belts still be found for these, if not what model will fit?

The 875...

Hey Sam
Its a very rare machine- did you get the rather sorry looking one that was on Ebay recently?
There are 2 I know of personally, I have one and Jack Copp has the other. There was a nice one on Ebay last year but I'm not aware where that went to. Mine has a 612/912 Commercial belt and that works fine.
There is a bit of history behind my example which carries the serial # B 9992- long story but as far as I know its only been used for about 2 of its 75 Years!!.

Yes, the very tatty one will be in my boot by 7pm tomorrow! Only up the road too! Mines got the same bag as my 375 has, but I reckon it can be saved and sewn.

What are they like to strip apart? Is there a best way to clean and oil the bearings?

The serial number is 14221, can they be dated?

Cheers for the pics, lovely machine and it can give me something to aim for.

Oh, and a bit of thread drift about history is fine by me!
