I REALLY like this Oreck. I dont know why but I just like it. I have another Oreck but it is an older model. Are the XL 21s any good? I can get one for around $100-150 anywhere online like eBay. Is it worth is though? Are the quiet and good cleaners. Any comments or info is greatly appreciated

My personal favorite

Of all the Oreck Uprights the xl21 ( replaced by the platinum series) is my favorite. They have a more aggressive roller brush, as well as a better designed fan( 7 blades instead of 5). Over all its a better and more user friendly designed Oreck. Also the better brushroll gives it a slight self propelled feel. WARNING! DO NOT USE GENERIC BELTS IN THIS MODEL THEY ARE USELESS! Bojack Oreck belts in the xl21 only last for about three rooms when they either break or pop off the motor shaft. Original Oreck belts are best. Retail on this machine was originally $699, so $150 or less is a great price.

I like mine

It took 2nd place to my Simplicity Freedom in my lightweight vacuum test. It's an improvement over the older models it cleans better and it's quieter. Overall i'd say they are a good vacuum if you want it go for it.

XL 21

Orecks in general are much better than several years ago and as above XL 21 is better still. One of the possible problem areas is the (different) handle grip. But with reasonable care and using the lower carry handle to move around you should enjoy.

I Love my XL21

It is a lot quieter than my old Orecks. And it seems to clean a lot better..
