I knew that the first Air-Way model 77's had virtually the same Wheel-A-Way as the model 66, but in the green color. I like how the machines are sitting at a 90 degree angle. Helps to pull them around. The later Wheel-A-Way for the model 77 tends to tip easily.
Beautiful model 77. While the model 77's GE-built motor is similar to the model 55 and 66, it is not the same and won't interchange. The 77 motor was more powerful and yet was slightly quieter than the 55 and 66. Very nice machine, gorgeous pictures. |

I also like how the cart tilts the machine up -- makes it look like it's on a launching pad ready to blast into outer-space!
My Model 77 is kinda dinged up; that's the condition it was in when I got it. I did clean and polish it up which helped a good bit in improving its appearance. I won't try to paint it as there would be no way to match the original green hammertone color. It does look better in "real life" than in the photos. Flash photography has a way of exaggerating flaws.
I also replaced the hose since the photos above were taken when I first got it. The original woven hose literally just fell part. So I saved the metal ends and green cuffs and attached them to a dark red vintage coiled Kirby hose. It looks really pretty with the green machine and picks up the red accents in the dome -- very Christmassy looking!

Has clear wheels and sits more level, Tom is exactly right though, it will tip over, it has big clear plastic wheels. |

I'm =positive= that the Air-Way polisher was made by Electrolux, or whoever made it for Electrolux if it wasn't manufactured in-house. Don't know about that. It's completely different from the Compact, Singer, Filter Queen & Royal polishers but the "innards" are identical to the Electrolux -- the early model. Also, the way the brushes attach are nearly identical, as with the buffing pads with the snap-on strap. The brushes are in the shape of a "four-sided star," similar to the Electrolux's "five-sided star" brushes. |
