I'm not too familiar with Electrolux Model Es or Auto Es, so could someone tell me if they varied in color--within the models' production years and/or for each model?  To me, the following Model E photo looks teal--not blue as the Aerus timeline states...or is it just the lighting?

Here is another Model E that looks blue to me:

The models E, Automatic E, and Thrift Model (T) were all painted the exact same blue hammer-tone color. It was the same paint used on the hose inlet of the model LXI as well as the disposable bag cover for the very last of the model XXX's as well as the rear housing of the very last XXX's. Interestingly, fading of the paint due to pollution in the atmosphere is to blame for the color variations. Jimmy Martin has, perhaps, the nicest Automatic E I've ever seen - it's even in its' original carton.

Also, the paint on machines used in households where people smoked cigarettes turns color. The nicotine turns the paint a gross greenish-yellow color.

Tom and Charles,

Thanks much for the info.  So would you say that Aerus's photo timeline of vacuum cleaner and power nozzle colors and production years is accurate?  As I gain more information from you I am thinking that the variations I have seen have either been factory rebuilts or owner renovations.  I do still wonder if there were different shades of aqua Model Gs.

Paul
