My great grandma had one of those, but I don't recall it having a cord rewind. It just sat in her attic all of the time. I would bring it down and vacuum her house whenever I visited her, until one day I changed the bag and tried to turn it on and it didn't work. I kept pulling the handle down and pushing it back up (how you turn it on and off) over and over and then sparks came out of it one time and she threw it away. She had the tool kit for it, however I never used them. |

I've had a couple of these (both Kenmore branded) and they really are powerful cleaners. Loud and not the most durable machines under heavy use, but they could hold their own for sure. The one feature I didn't like most of all was the handle-switch on one of the Kenmores. Lower handle - machine on, raise handle - machine off. Just a minor annoyance, but I prefer a separate power switch.
