There is no trick that I have found just a set of flat heads and a good bit of patients. The rubber shroud has a very snug fit around the base of the fan casing. |

Put the motor in a warm place, like a sunny window sill. The rubber will soften when it warms up and then you should be able to gently pry the motor out. |
