Hey Kirby experts, a few questions:
1. My classic 1-CR has a slightly loose rug nozzle. The buffer and rug renovator fit perfectly, so it's not the attachment lock. Another expert said it was worn lugs and told me to replace the entire nozzle. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I'd prefer not to replace it since I restored & polished this nozzle a few months ago and cosmetically it's in great shape.
2. Older Kirby manuals stipulate that the brush (rug nozzle) should protrude beyond the plate by 1/16" inch. The G series lengthens that to 1/8". Is it safe to readjust older models to 1/8"? Why was this direction changed? Difference in the brush itself?
3. Anyone know where I can get a genuine Omega bag (not generic)? I'd love to find new stock, but I've almost given up. A used one in great condition could work.
4. I'm missing three attachments for my Classic 1-CR: straight wand, crevice tool, and duster pad. Anyone know where to look? I've searched Ebay for several months.
5. Does anyone else think that the older style felt duster pads were greatly superior to what Kirby produces today? Why was this item omitted from basic tools?
6. Does anyone else want Kirby to produce a wide bare-floor brush attachment? I saw a remark in another thread the that G series nozzle with wheels wasn't so appreciated and I tend to agree (although I think it's ideal on carpeting). I want the brissles resting directly on the surface to be cleaned. Does Kirby ever take suggestions? I'm tempted to order the attachment found on Ebay that is apparently made in Europe and fits Kirby wands.
Thanks

3. Try eBay. And a lot if people around here are willing to work out a trade.
5. I believe it's because they're softer compare to today's.
6. YES.

I asked kirby go make a retro line back to where the machines were smaller like the ds50 & ds80. So far no reply back & that was over 2 years ago.

Yes! I prefer using my D50 over anything else. It's lighter and smaller and easier to maneuver.

Since I'm always intrigued by the fact the entire Heritage/Legend trilogy (Heritage (84), Heritage II (Legend) and Legend II) had the 13" nozzle option, I am still wondering how I could construct a similar 13" nozzle for my Classic III???

Is it easy to just take the Dual Sanitronic 80 nozzle, strip it of most of its parts, and put the Classic III belt lifter parts and make a custom-size bumper (to be shortened from an actual Classic III bumper) for it?

~Ben

As long as the safty switch lugs on the nozzle matches up it should work. I used to use a kcIII nozzle on my ds50 and it worked but the hose didn't since the left lug was longer. Mark

I wa going to say they same. Safety switches would have to be modified or bypassed.
