Ok I have added a few new items to the collection. My bank balance is feeling a little worse for wear now. But it's worth it.

Ok first is a a Panasonic Icon MCE581 form about 1995, it's made in Spain and I love the colour it's come all the way from England thanks to Steve.

Next Hoover Freemotion Bagless

Here's one of Hoover's new bagless models from Europe, it's the bottom of the line Freemotion and it's not great build quality made in the PRC and it shows. Such a shame.

Next the Hoover Octopus Bagless

I have to say I really like this one, again made in the PRC and using the body of the European made Discovery model. Some of the features are just so over the top like the ZOOM tube and the inferared romote control. Think the Zoom tube is a great idea.

And last but not least the Dyson DC16 Motorhead

At last I got my first Dyson and let me say this was hard for a die hard Hoover boy. But I have to say I like this one. The suction is great and and the turbo head really makes this machine.

Very nice!

I'm a big fan of the Icon - I have 2 myself, in fact I did a thread about them a couple of months ago (see link)

I've never seen the Dyson DC16 with a motorhead before - how does the motorhead affect power consumption? Does it have a shorter running time than the standard model?

Octopus.

Cool machines! Interesting seeing something from 'down under'.

So, can the Octopus pick up water? Or is it just named that because of the hose that extends way far?

Fred,

No the Octopus is a dry only machine think the name has more to do with the long hose. And both the Octopus and Freemotion are from the UK.
