I was at a thrift store today and found a Royal Prince all metal hand vac... for 6 bucks! There were just 2 on C/L for 50 dollars for the pair and I almost considered buying them, but I'm so glad I waited. It was missing the plug, but I can find one online or use the one from the dirt devil since it fits... it is dull and I will hand polish it with mothers and 000 steel wool... I feel like it was a good deal and I will enjoy using it to get rid of cat hair on furniture!

Can I wash the shake out bag without hurting it?

Sorry about the picture quality... my less than a year old digital camera decided to stop working and I had to use my cell phone...

the collection

"Matching" Royal/Dirt Devil products.... so fun! It will be interesting to compare the Royal version to the plastic Devil version...

I already have belts for the hand vac so I will change that when I clean this baby up....

Here I have the plug from the DD on the Royal to make sure it would work until I can buy another one...

I still have it, it is up on the shelf... I didn't think it fit in with the picture with blue royals and red dirt devils :O)

I polished the machine last night and it looks a lot better... I also hand washed the bag with laundry soap and it's drying now. There was dirt caked all around the motor and I had to pry it out with a knife and then vacuum it with another machine... Something that surprised me was that the sole plate dosn't go all the way to the ends of the nozzle! I haven't used it yet, so I don't have any first impressions, but I'll post another picture after I get it back together when the bag dries....

Wow, Wayne, this is a great deal to include the box and attachments! My Dirt Devil came with the box too and I kept it.... and found a paper bag converter at a thrift shop several months ago, but didn't use it yet...

Haven't been able to try this guy out yet because the bag is still drying...

Prince

Good buy on a good vac.Now that cloth bag is clean you may want to find the prince paper bags that drop in.
