I wouldn't have one of those filthy things in my house. Even if someone offered it to me, Brand new in the box, with a prize inside. |

When the filters are clean, and belt is in good shape, then this vacuum actually feels like it has very good airflow and seems to groom the carpet well. However, I am refurbished and sold 3 of these style machines, of the following model numbers:
Yellow Eureka Altima Widetrack bagless 2961 Type: BVZ Yellow Eureka Altima Widetrack bagless 2961 Type: AVZ Blue Eureka Altima with edge kleener 2993 The filters clog up almost immediately on all 3 of these machines, starting with the black foam filter this is just below the filter, and this really gets clogged quickly greatly inhibiting its airflow. These machines are very dirty. Cleaning these machines was a REAL chore on all. The dust on these is incredible. A generous coating on all parts of the exterior, headlight area which is a separate compartment from filters and motor gets an EXTREMELY large amount of dust. Motor area, all filter areas these are just really dirty machines. In contrast I have refurbed several Bissell Bagless machines, Hoover Twin Chamber bagless machines and about 6 Dirt Devil Envision Wide Glide bagless uprights. The motor area on the Hoover Twin Chambers and Dirt Devil Envision were the cleanest of all. Those bagless models have barely any dust from vacuuming in the motor area and it's mainly motor carbon dust to clean on those. They are so easy and a true blessing for cleaning in comparison to the Eureka Altima. I received all 3 Eureka Altimas that I restored for free and can honestly say that I will bypass all future ones. They are just too much mess and hassle for the work involved to turn into a nice looking clean machine again. I wish you much better success with yours than I had the 3 freebie Altimas I've acquired! |
