Clearly i'm still not very good at working on bypass motors i kinda messed up the armature on my Dirt Devil i got a few of those back into place, what holds those on anyways? i was trying to get the fan off of it and didn't realize it was reverse threaded so i actually ended up tightening it even more >_>. It also ended up sliding some of the little bars out of place.
i've never seen this happen before should i just consider the armature shot? |

I would consider the armature toast. The bars that you wedged out of place most likely broke away from the wires they are connected to, and if you tried to run it the way it is, it would either arc and spark like the fourth of july or, if it actually ran, the centrifugal force on the loosened bars would cause them to fly out, most likely destroying the rest of the motor. What was wrong with it when you took it apart?
