hi folks just to show you my lux z25 found 5 years ago in a second hand shop. Bought for a fiver itn came in origional box with all origional tools (no mothimiser, was that an additional attachment?) Dated 1946 round pins in cord connecter not flat diagonal. Also inc origional user manual!

As a child, i remember my nans electrolux was very similar to this but i dont remember the model number. Maybe someone will recognise it if i describe it. Red "leatherette" case, cord connecter with flat diagonal pins, screw hose coupling on a red and white "shiny material" hose, black bakelite end caps,on wire type sleighs like 25, bag end cap held on by large single u shaped bar hinged on both sides of machine. 1 action lifted it all up away and released the cap. Nice shiny "world famous" logo on top. Interestingly 2 odd rods! a heavy shiny 1 and a lightwieght 1. The one ( i remember) was slightly rusty! By the way, the cord connecter pushed in on top by the handle which was an odd shape, the one end seemed to loop up a bit. switch was a bakelite seesaw type if you like. I think the machine was bought in 1951ish. any clues?

Hello, I've got a pair of z 25s, here are some pictures of one of them, right in the middle...I can't find the pictures of the other one, I'll post them later!

lux cylinders

hi Tom,
nice machines buddy,is the 25 pictured here italian given the flag? Also the 2 55s on the end i have 2 like them in both those finishes is there supposed to be any difference or is it just that theyre clad from a different batch of skin? My parents z55 ( bought in 1951) was in the the skin type on the left in your photo and it had the ittallic style chrome diagonal "electrolux" logos on each side, but since ive been collecting and more interested ive found some dont have this. any clues?

one of the z55s was purchased here in Milano from a nice old lady who had received it as a gift for her marriage, the other one was purchased in stockolm where I went for a weekend last year, for about $4...the both work fine and have all tools.tommy

z55

Hi Tom
Great stuff mate, pick tour brains a sec! first thing crevice tools, do your z55s have the thick rubber ones i was talking about in my earlier thread? secondly i have never seen a mothimiser or vapouriser set up, tell me Tom, does it snap onto the "outermost" rim of the 55 metal filter cover. i used to wonder what that was for.Now on the 55s i own, one has the rim the other doesnt isnt that strange? any clues mate?
