A while ago I saw the Lux Legacy on craigslist and they wanted $275 for it. I was not going to pay that much for it. Well yesterday I saw it again for only $100. I emailed the person and she called me today asking if I could come pick it up at her office. I said sure and went on my way. When I got to the office, she asked me to come around back. I noticed a rainbow box. I asked if they were a rainbow dealer and she said yes. We got talking and I told her I have an old chrome dome rainbow. Well a guy had walked in and asked why I wanted the Electrolux. I told him I was a collector and he said come with me. He took me in the back room and showed me all the trade ins. There were a few Kirby's and older rainbows. Nothing that stood out besides the riccar. He said you like any and I said the riccar. He said I could have it. What a score!!!!!!

Does that 8900 have a hose? Those are my favorite Riccars.

Congratulations! You got quite the score there!! That Riccar looks very nice, & was very expensive brand new....here in Canada, most vac shops sell the 8900 series for around $600-$700 dollars, as they are considered commercial-grade machines.

The Lux Legacy you have there, I would suspect that's around 3 or 4 years old. Aerus just recently changed the hood design to accomodate the LED headlights, & by the time somebody would have purchased this & then been visited by the DTD Rainbow salesman, they would have most likely owned this a couple of years. But it sure looks in good shape though....all you need to do is find a floor brush for it.

Enjoy your new vacuums....Rob
