I purchased a Royal commercial Upright model 1030. The shake out bag has 3 tiny holes in a group. I was wondering if anybody had one they were looking to sell? I dont want generic and I really dont like the orange ones and would like to keep the original look. Either that or could somebody give me tips on how to put a patch on the inside?

The Holes

They look like moth holes. Would it be very difficult to put in a patch?

Nick,

While this discussion is located here, may I ask you if you are looking for any commercial Royal uprights from 1992 and earlier?

Here's the list:
606 (circa 1966 to 1987) = same cast headlight as model 801
606A (circa 1966 to 1976) = same flip-top headlight as model 880
608 (circa 1972 to 1987) = same flip-top headlight as model 880
611 (circa 1972 to 1987) = blanked-out headlight space
618 (1984 to 1987) = first wide-track (18" long) Royal commercial ever made
620 (1984 to 1987) = like 618 but with headlight
660, 662 (1987 to 1990) = replaced 611 and 606 respectively
680, 682 (1987 to 1990) = like 660/662 but with wide-track (18") nozzle. Replaced 618/620
670, 672 (1990 to 1995) = replaced 660/662
671, 673 (1990 to 1995) = like 670/672 but with rubber belt cover and Au-Toe-Matic (toe touch) height adjuster
690, 692 (1990 to 1995) = replaced 680/682
691, 693 (1990 to 1995) = like 690/692 but with rubber belt cover and Au-Toe-Matic (toe touch) height adjuster

All of these could have been optioned with either shake-out bags or with zippered bags for disposables. The latter would have a "Z" at the end of its model # (e.g. 606AZ, 660Z, 670Z), although that wasn't made explicit on the nameplate until 1990.

Ben, I'm not looking for any other machines at this time besides the one evan is helping me with. I'm pretty much all tapped out cash wise. But the bag for my commercial looks just like the one in the picture except it has a slide at the top because its a shake out.

NOS Blue Bag on eBay

I noticed a seller that had a few NOS vintage bags at auction the other day.

One was a powder blue Royal bag. Not sure if it was a shake out though. It Didn't state in the listing info. The starting bid was low.

shelley, shake out bags can be identified by the slide on the top of the bag. Thusly do they not have zippers. I'm looking for the correct bag for this model, although I'm probably just gonna patch the one I have
